| Highlights: |
|
We had a chance to win. The largemouth was in the 5 lb range.
For whatever reason, fought it through all the slop and she came
off at the boat. One little 2 lb. smallie in the livewell. |
| Places To Remember for next time: |
Fisher Bay and South Bay are producing this year. Should have
checked Toad Harbor.
|
| Personal and Technical Entry: |
Largemouth are very shallow in the slop. Top water bite on
Friday was non-aggressive. Had to work hard for a top water bite
on Sat. Lakeport Bay has excellent shallow cover- no bites.
Red/Orange algae on shore, fry were schooled off shore above
weeds.
Long casts with tubes to shallow clean rock for big smallies-
wind is needed. Cloud cover, or full sun does not seem to
matter. No wind with high-pressure system seem to move them to
the deep waterledge or point in the vicinity of the clean rock
flat or ridge.
Nearly all pin buoys are on off-shore end of rock ridges.
Deep fish are moving around the shoals, following schools of
shad. |
